Pain Procedures

This list includes some of the more common procedures we offer.

Cervical Facet Injection

This procedure targets neck pain. You'll receive a steroid medication injected into the facet joint, a thumbnail size joint that's located in pairs on the back of your spine. To ensure proper placement of the medication, the procedure is done under fluoroscopy or x-ray.

Epidural Injection

This procedure targets spine pain. You'll receive a steroid medication that's injected into the epidural space – the area between the walls and the dura mater (a tough, fibrous membrane) of the vertebral canal. To ensure proper placement of the medication, the procedure is done under fluoroscopy or x-ray.

Sacroiliac Joint Injection

An injection of a long-lasting steroid, or cortisone, in the sacroiliac joints, which are in the lower back area and connect your spine to the pelvis. The steroid reduces the inflammation of the joint space tissue, which reduces pain due to inflammation of the joint and surrounding structures.
