Kids at Koke Mill provides a group therapy program led by a speech therapist and occupational or physical therapists. Social Stars helps children develop their communication and social language skills. Classes are offered for both pre-school (ages three to five) and school-aged children. All children are welcome.
Goals include:
- Increasing social communication
- Turn taking
- Initiating conversation with peers
- Developing cooperative play skills
- Increasing attention and use of social manners
Social Stars is a fun way to learn and practice communication. Stories, games, crafts, songs, snacks and sensory activities are used to introduce and teach social language skills.
Hour-long sessions are offered at varying times at Koke Mill Medical Center. If you would like more information or would like to join us, call 217-862-0400 or email us.
