Partial Hospitalization

Everyone has problems of some kind; when problems cause family chaos and interfere with daily life, professional help may be needed. We can help those who have depression and/or anxiety that interferes with everyday life.

The Partial Hospitalization Program is for adults (18 and older) who need more therapy than a traditional outpatient setting provides. It is also for those who have been inpatients, and need structured, intensive therapy after they leave the hospital. Our team provides help in a caring and comfortable environment during the day, and participants can return home during the evening and weekends.

Feedback from Our Patients

This has been one of the most beneficial experiences in my life. Very insightful. Very helpful. Enlightened my thoughts to a better way of thinking.
I'm glad this program exists in Springfield.
I am thankful for this program and feel it helps many.
The staff here need to be commended for all their hard work and encouragement and understanding of the patients that come through. Never had a day when I wished I wasn't here because of staff or program objectives.
This program and the people involved have made the biggest difference in my life. They are a true blessing!!!

Treatment tailored to your needs

Our staff develops an individualized, holistic treatment plan for each participant. The program offers five hours of daily therapy, Monday through Friday, in a highly-structured, goal-oriented setting.

Various types of treatment are used, such as group psychotherapy and education groups. The goal is to improve interpersonal skills, manage symptoms and improve coping skills to help you get back to daily life. We encourage families to be involved, and offer education and support for families and loved ones.

For those with depression who may also have issues with alcohol, substance abuse or eating disorders, we have staff who specialize in these areas and can help.

Our treatment team

Our treatment team includes a psychiatrist, social workers, therapists, a registered nurse, certified drug and alcohol counselors, and recreational therapists, a dietitian and our own chaplain.

In addition to a full staff of behavioral experts, we also offer all major medical specialties and hospital services. It is the best outpatient, hospital-based resource as an alternative to 24-hour inpatient care.

Referrals and admissions

Referrals to our program can be made by any physician, health professional, social service agency, family member or by the person who needs care. Call 217-757-2455, Monday through Friday.

Before admission, our staff will do a free screening and develop a personalized plan of care. The particpant's care is guided by a psychiatrist. If you are not currently under the care of a psychiatrist, with your involvement, our staff will help you find a physician.

Program costs

Because participants are at home on weekday evenings and weekends, fees are lower than those for 24-hour inpatient services. Most insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid will cover partial hospitalization. Look at your insurance policies or contact your insurance provider to see if you are covered. We are happy to help you find out if you have insurance coverage.

Planning for continuing care

Our team works closely with each patient to develop an after-care plan following partial hospitalization. We can help arrange a variety of therapeutic and community resources.

We are happy to work with the participant's family, outpatient therapist and family physician, when appropriate, to make sure the needed support services are in place. We will start this plan when the patient is admitted, and continue support event after discharge.

Sometimes taking the first step is the hardest one. Call 217-757-2455 to begin the healing process.
