Catholic Mass is held each Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. in Memorial Medical Center's Henry Bunn Chapel. The Henry Bunn Chapel is on the first floor near Admission and Testing.
Confession is conducted by appointment. The Sacrament of the Sick is offered to patients by staff priests who visit our patients daily.
The eucharist is provided for our Catholic patients on a daily basis.
Please contact the Pastoral Care office at 217-788-3585 if you would like a Eucharistic Minister to stop by your room.
Service of Remembrance
The Service of Remembrance is held three times per year to remember the loved ones who have died recently. This service is held in two parts at Memorial Medical Center. The service is held in the Wedeberg Conference Center with a time of meditation and reflection as well as a time of remembrance when each loved one's name is read. Following the service, a shrub is planted in Memorial's front garden along the memory walk. Here we have a brief committal service as cards are placed in the ground by friends, relatives and loved ones.
Share Burial Committal Service
Share Burial is for parents who have lost pregnancies at less than 24 weeks and elect to have their little ones buried with other little ones lost at Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Outpatient Surgery, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and St. John's Hospital. The purpose of this graveside committal service is to support parents, families and friends in the grieving process and to honor their little ones by name.
