Nurse Residency Program

Nurse Residency Program for New Graduates

Since 2002 the UHC/AACN Nurse Residency Program has provided healthcare organizations with a transition-to-practice program for new graduate nurses. This transition is supported by an evidence-based curriculum that is customized to reflect the values and mission of Memorial Medical Center. All new graduate nurses are automatically enrolled in our Nurse Residency Program upon acceptance of an offer. No application is necessary.

Program Requirements:

  • Mandatory participation of all new graduate nurses
  • One year in length with paid monthly meetings (maximum duration of four hours)
  • Development of an evidence-based practice or lean six-sigma quality improvement project

Facilitators guide monthly discussions, work with the nurse residents to identify learning needs, serve as experienced nurse experts and guide the residents’ evidence-based project efforts. On top of this robust program, we provide new graduates with mentors, preceptors, onboarding and other programs to help each individual succeed.

While we offer a variety of nursing settings, what never differs is our ongoing devotion to the patients and families we serve, to ensure the best outcomes possible. Consider joining us in our journey by applying for a position on our Careers page.
