Melissa Hansen Schmadeke, Executive Director
Melissa is responsible for all operations, including naming opportunities, major donors, planned giving, endowments and other donor campaigns, and for the strategic growth and development of Memorial Medical Center Foundation. She joined the Foundation in 2017 with a strong background in government, focusing on healthcare public policy and programs. She has 17 years of government experience comprised of budget analysis, financial reporting and crafting legislation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Melissa was the executive director of the Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan.
Melissa earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from St. Ambrose University and a master's degree from the University of Illinois Springfield. She is an active member of the SIU School of Medicine, Denim and Diamonds Gala committee and will serve as committee chair in 2018. Lisa Flynn, System Director, Foundation Finance
Lisa serves as the financial director of the affiliate foundations for Memorial Health System. She oversees the financial reporting for all foundations, including monthly financial reporting, board presentations, budgeting and forecasting, tax compliance and reporting and year-end audit reporting. Lisa serves on the MHS Investment Committee and acts as a direct resource to the affiliate foundation executive directors for fiscal issues and projects.
She has been with Memorial Health System since 1996 and with Memorial Medical Center Foundation since 2004. Lisa earned her bachelor's degree in economics/accounting from Illinois College and her master’s degree in nonprofit administration from North Park University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Nonprofit Professional. Raegan Hennemann, Development Program Manager
Raegan manages the Foundation's marketing and communication materials, including the website, Facebook pages, eBlasts, brochures and the community update. She coordinates the Foundation's annual giving program and assists with planning and coordination of Memorial’s Festival of Trees and the 75 Grand Raffle. Raegan joined the Foundation in 2014 after working at Memorial Behavioral Health, a Memorial Health System affiliate, for nine years. She received her bachelor's degree in mass communications from Winona State University in Minnesota and her master's degree in communication from the University of Illinois Springfield. Amanda Johnson, Event Manager
Amanda is responsible for coordinating the Foundation's special events including Memorial's annual colleague giving campaign, MASH, and our largest fundraiser, Memorial's Festival of Trees. Before joining Memorial in 2008, Amanda worked in healthcare marketing and the media. Amanda also has experience in special event planning for other charities and has volunteered on several fundraiser committees. Amanda earned her bachelor's degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida. She is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Springfield and a member of Illinois Women in Leadership. Bev Kane, Executive Assistant
Bev is the executive assistant for the Foundation and assistant secretary for the Foundation board of directors. She provides administrative assistance to staff along with organizing office functions. In addition, she coordinates the Foundation's grant program. Emily Marshall, Database Specialist
Emily is responsible for updating our donor database and preparing acknowledgement letters for gifts to the Foundation. She has been with Memorial since 2003.
