Memorial Medical Center to Host Free Seminar on Cervical Disc Replacement Surgery

Memorial Medical Center will host a free seminar on cervical disc replacement surgery at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the Carpenter Conference Center.

The program will feature Dr. Tim VanFleet, an Orthopedic Center of Illinois physician, who will discuss the benefits of cervical disc replacement surgery and other surgical options during the one-hour seminar.

Disc degeneration can lead to narrowing of the spaces between the vertebrae in the neck, resulting in neck pain and stiffness, headaches, and shoulder and arm pain. When these symptoms don’t respond to nonsurgical treatments, it might be time to consider the next step, VanFleet said.

The Carpenter Conference Center is south of the main hospital at 224 W. Carpenter St. in Springfield.

To register, visit or call (217) 788-3333.
