Casie Milner Named 2017 ALMH Employee of the Year

ALMH Emergency Room Nurse Casie Milner of Springfield, Illinois has been named the 2017 Employee of the Year at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. ALMH president and CEO Dolan Dalpoas presented the award to Milner at the ALMH Holiday and Award Celebration on December 1, 2017 held at the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln. Milner was selected by her peers from the 2017 employees of the month to receive the honor.

TMH Foundation Announces Butterfield Scholarship Recipients

The Taylorville Memorial Hospital Foundation announced the recipients of the Carolyn M. Butterfield Trust Nursing Scholarship and the John H. Butterfield Trust Agriculture and Nutrition Scholarship at its Signature Event fundraiser “Gifts of the Season” on Saturday, December 2 at the Pillars Event Center in Taylorville.

Holiday Helpings for People with Diabetes

Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital provides a free education group for people with diabetes mellitus. The group meets the third Friday of the month at the Oasis Senior Center located at 2810 Woodlawn Road in Lincoln. This month the group will meet on Friday, December 15 from 11am to 12pm and discuss the topic, “Holiday Helpings.”

Memorial Health System Seeks Volunteers to Knit Hats for Newborns

As part of the American Heart Association's Little Hats, Big Hearts campaign, Memorial Health System is seeking volunteers to crochet or knit tiny red hats for babies born in February.

ALMH Offers Free Prenatal Class

Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital reminds expecting families that each month it offers a free prenatal class. The next 3-hour class will be held Sunday, December 10 from 1pm – 4pm. Next week, several working contracted medical interpreters will take part in a required forty hours of basic medical interpreter education focusing on National Council of Interpreters in Healthcare (NCIHC) standards.

Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) Class Coming to Passavant Area Hospital

Passavant Area Hospital will offer an emergency medical technician-basic (EMT-B) starting January 15, 2018. Individuals completing the class and passing the state licensure exam will be will allowed to work as a healthcare provider with an ambulance service. The EMT-B certification is the first step to becoming a paramedic.
