Memorial's 2015 Hospice Gala is a Success
More than 375 people attended the fourth annual Memorial Hospice Gala on Saturday, April 11, at the Crowne Plaza. Proceeds go to the Sharing Wishes Fund, which helps make wishes come true for hospice patients and their families.
"Whether it's a special family-and-friends gathering or a visit from a distant loved one, donations help make wishes become a reality," said Elena Kezelis, executive director of Memorial Medical Center Foundation.
The goal of hospice is to focus on quality of life for every patient. As a team, hospice works to enhance this quality of life physically, emotionally and spiritually.
"Much time is spent reflecting with patients and families about their memories, hopes and dreams. With the help of the Sharing Wishes Fund, we have fulfilled the wishes of many hospice patients," Kezelis said.
The evening featured keynote speaker Rebecca Lobo, an Olympic gold medalist, NCAA national champion, television analyst and former WNBA player. You can view pictures from the event on Memorial Medical Center Foundation's Facebook page.
