School Days is a special preview of the Festival for preschool, elementary school and child care groups, held the week before the Festival opens to the public. This year's School Days will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Wednesday, Nov. 18.
During School Days, each child will receive one complimentary ride on the train, create a special School Days craft and enjoy a snack with Santa. It takes approximately one hour to enjoy the School Days activities. The following areas of the Festival will not be open during School Days: Boutique, Snapshots with Santa, Entertainment Stage and Holiday Kitchen.
The admission fee is $5 per child. Additional children, including siblings, who wish to participate in School Days activities will also be charged $5. Teachers and bus drivers receive free admission. Parents and other adults accompanying the group will be charged a $3 admission fee. Gingerbread cookies will be available for purchase during School Days for $3 each. Payment is due at check-in. Cash, check and credit card are accepted. Make checks payable to Festival of Trees.
Reservations are required due to limited seating on the train and in the snack area. They are available every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
If you have to cancel your reservation, please call the Festival of Trees office at 217-788-4301 as soon as possible. Space is limited and other schools may be on a waiting list.
