Before your surgery day, you may be asked to see your surgeon or primary care giver within 30 days of surgery for a history and physical. At this appointment you may be asked to do a urine specimen, blood, EKG, chest X-ray or all four.
These are important tests to determine if your body is ready for surgery. There are usually instructions regarding what medication to take the day of surgery, and in some cases patients may be asked to hold blood thinning type medications for several days prior to surgery.
Please review our Patient Surgery Guide for more information.
